ANNOUNCEMENTS/NEWS
Madison Dog Park Update...
1 – Playground Parents Oppose CCA Design
2 – Channel 9 Video Clip
3 – Please call or write the County Board
4 – County Board Meeting - Saturday, December 11, 8:30 a.m.
1 – Some Madison playground parents have suddenly become very active and vocal in their opposition to the proposed CCA design and allege CCA supporters are trying to take land away from their children.
They have involved the media (TV and print) and hand delivered flyers to homes. They don't want their children sharing a sidewalk with on-leash dogs. And then there are those pesky "standing puddles of urine"...
Below is a link to their website. The headline on the flyer was “Children’s Safety Alert!!!” and the text was similar to the message on their “home” page.

2 – If you missed the latest Channel 9 segment on Madison, check out this video clip. http://www.wusatv9.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=35061
or you can read this Washington Post article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A56847-2004Nov17.html
3 – Please call or write each Arlington County Board Member to show your support of the new CCA design. The official final design hasn’t been unveiled yet, but based on the “pre-final” design that was unveiled on Nov 18th and the input from the community and Task Force, we expect the new design to adequately address the concerns of stakeholders and still be a nice place for us to enjoy with our friends (human and canine).
Please call or write EACH member of the County Board BEFORE DECEMBER 11 and urge them to vote FOR the new design. They need to do the right thing and approve the design.

4 – Mark your calendar for the Saturday, December 11 County Board Meeting (8:30 a.m.). We need to show the County Board that there are many supporters who appreciate the Board’s commitment to the CCA and expect them to do the right thing on behalf of all those stakeholders who cared enough to participate in the process from the beginning, five years ago.
