![]() ALEXANDRIA DOGS BEGINS… How much is a dog park worth to you? How about a signature, for starters... Did you know that Alexandria has a Master Plan for dog parks, but is ignoring aspects of that plan? Did you know that one of our current parks is in jeopardy? Did you know that the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (the nonprofit that operates the City's animal shelter) has been told that it must relocate its Canine Games and other events because dogs are no longer welcome in certain park areas, and that the Canine Games are now homeless and in danger of becoming extinct? Interested dog owners have come together to form ALEXANDRIA DOGS, a non-profit group modeled on similar, successful groups in Arlington, Reston and Herndon. We will work to advance dog owner issues in the City of Alexandria, through targeted donations, education, and simply making our voices heard. For an idea of what we're going to be, visit the ArlingtonDogs website at WWW.ARLINGTONDOGS.ORG. If you like what you see, please call 703/578-0522, mailbox 6, and leave us a message (this is Arlington Dogs' phone, generously donated to us until we are fully up and running). You can also send us a message at FOLKS@ALEXANDRIADOGS.ORG, or visit our startup web site at WWW.ALEXANDRIADOGS.ORG. PLEASE GET INVOLVED - WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!!! |
