What is a Puppy Party?
Puppy Parties are a free comunity service program sponsored by ArlingtonDogs. These socialization sessions are for puppies up to nine months old. ArlingtonDogs' volunteers are present at all parties and a professional dog trainer is often present to answer questions about puppy behavior.
If you bring your puppy out to play, please bring proof of your dog's shots to your first party and when you arrive, be sure to fill out a blue sheet!
When and Where Can I Find
an ArlingtonDogs Puppy Party?
Puppy Parties are held on Saturday mornings from 9 to 11 am at local Arlington Dog Exercise Areas (often at the dog park near Shirlington). Weekly announcements of locations and directions are available by e-mailing arlingtondogs@hotmail.com or by calling the ArlingtonDogs hotline at 703.578.0522 (mailbox 1).
Why Should I Go to
an ArlingtonDogs Puppy Party?
Socialization at an early age is critical to your puppy's development. Inadequate socialization in puppyhood can result in a hard-to-handle unruly adolescent, and a pup who lacks confidence is more likely to exhibit signs of fear aggression as an adult. Early puppy socialization helps to shape a confident, well-adjusted, happy canine citizen. In addition, puppies are exposed to new locations and new people, all in a safe and really fun environment. Owners meet and share "puppy survival tips."
